'Forsaken : The Demon Trapper By Jane Oliver

The first of what it seems is a great new series by an author i havent  heard of before.

It i set iinto the near futre of 2018 and Riley Blackthorne  gives up school to become a female apprentice demon trapper in the city of Atlanta. Paul her father is a master trapper and was once a history teacher, they both struggle to get all the money they can to pay off the medical bills of Riley's late mother.  She decides to take the demon trapping one step further and try and reach the role of journeyman with the help of her new master Harper.

With the help of friends akong the way: Ori the mysterious stranger who caims to have known her father and keeps turning up to save her life, Beck the backwoods boy with an attidue and makes it his personal goal to smack every demon he sees with his steel pipe and simon the holy crusader who has heaven on his side.

Along her many encounters she finds a simalarity between all the demons and finds it vvery uncomfortable, she also finds something very wrong with their main weapon againts the hellspwan, the rest of the guild find out very late on and learn the hard way.

I found the language quite profound and it uses great words and the correct names for people such as necromancers and hellspawn.
The book explores the difficulties of a young trapper who is a girl in a mans world. She go's through a lot in a short space of time and learns new things along the way. she feels different emotions and bears a large burden on her shoulders.
The author sucks the reader into the book and at times i had read a hundred pages at a time.

Overall a great first book in the series and i hope the best is still to come. 9/10

  1. Well done Ben - if anything your story synopsis is a little long. Try to focus in more detail on what you like and dislike about the book. More information on the characters would help people make an even more informed choice.
